Corita Kent

I came across this recently and was intrigued - the person who painted the famous highway gas tank along the Southeast Express way was an nun named Corita Kent.   There is now a Corita Art Center in LA.  As they say "the more you know"

Here is a link to the famous tank, you can't miss this iconic storage tank it if you have ever driven to Boston

Here's another nice piece from her art center.   Can't go wrong with this sentiment.

Meanwhile it will be nice to have the Rem Dog back in 2014 and interesting to see if Grady Sizemore can make the team.

Super Bowl 48

Unfortunately the Patriots did nothing to stop Peyton Manning, so we will have Denver vs Seattle for the Super Bowl.  A nice season for the Pats but another loss in the AFC title game.  We lost the 2013 AFC title game to eventually champions, Baltimore Ravens.

On to the AFC Championship

The Patriots are in the AFC Championship game yet again, possibly facing Peyton Manning's Denver Broncos.  We are so lucky to be living in the Tom Brady era, as Brady gets his 18th post season victory. However this time the Patriots dominated the Colts with the running game with a 43-22 victory and  4 TDs from running back LeGarrette Blount.

Snowstorm Hercules

This first snowstorm of 2014, but not the first snowfall of the 2013-14 winter was a decent storm but not quite as bad as predicted.  I measured 8" at my house in Rumford.  The roads were in tough shape thanks to the light snow weight and heavy winds.  Now on to some very cold weather and Frozen Fenway tomorrow, January 4, 2014.

January 21-22 gave us about 5 inches of light powdery snow followed by more cold.  It's around noon time on Wednesday after the storm and it's only 10 degrees.

We had a few other small amounts of snow, an inch here and there.
